  • Offer something he loves....like ice cream or an extra 30 minutes of TV or video playing AFTER the bath.
  • Take out a belt it always worked with me.
  • Just let him be dirty and stinky. When the other kids start making fun of him for being smelly (or when he starts to smell HIMSELF) he'll realize he needs to take a shower.
  • pour a bottle of perfume over him, he'll shower to get it off.
  • This is a phase he is going through, which he will eventually outgrow. (I know I did.) When he starts caring about how he looks - and smells - this will no longer be a problem. Until then, reward works MUCH better than punishment. Tell him that you will play his favorite board (or video) game with him [for 30 minutes only] when he is done.
  • BRIBES
  • Let him smell. Let him be the smelly kid in class and no one will play with him. Why bother getting yourself all stressed out and have him break stuff because he doesn't want to be clean? I had to do that with my son. He now showers and even sneaks putting on my husbands cologne.
  • my parents told me that monsters liked to eat dirty kids.
  • you don't want to start the Bribery thing because then he will start refusing to do stuff just to get a bribe. and if you just leave him to be dirty and stinky, he's Won, if he doesn't have to obey you this time why should he the next. today it's a shower, tomorrow it'll be veggies or bed time or curfew. spare the rod and spoil the child is an old saying because it's true. you need to set down the ground rules early and make it clear who's boss. otherwise he will just keep pushing and testing until he does anything he wants and ignores what you say completely. don't play his game, this is your court so dominate.
  • Turn a hose on him. He'll get the message.
  • tell him that his dad will get so angry @ him if he doesnt hava shower or say that 'he smells bad, and u will tell his friends
