  • Well according to IMDB the Tanner's address was 1882 Girard Street in San Francisco http://poll.imdb.com/title/tt0092359/trivia Although it did come up with the street name, after doing a search on mapquest ( www.mapquest.com ) it would not come up with that street number...so I would have to guess the address itself does not exist. Of course the show was filmed at the warner bros studio in Burbank California...
  • It is 1882 Girard Street. There is actually a GIradrd Street there, but no 1882. The way I know that address is that, in the show "The Miracle of Thanksgiving," the lady with the turkey says it.
  • You can see the outside of the house (just the building, the inside is in the WB studios) somewhere in "Alamo Square", in San Francisco. This is also the street where the grass (you know, where all the family is having a kind of picnic during the intro song) is located.
  • If you go to alamo square, and stand in the park, where you would assume the tanners had their picnic. Look at the painted ladies. Then turn to your right, and you'll see a house that looks amazingly just like the tanners house. The house however is now green, and the houses next to it are not the same as in the show.
  • The house shown with the red door is actually on Broderick St... I believe 1770 Broderick St in San Francisco. The row of houses (The Painted Ladies) shown behind the park in the opening scene is not the same as the house with the red door. As the camera pans out from the red door house you'll notice that there isn't a park across that house. You can use the street view tool on google map to confirm this.
  • Hey all! I've been reading and a lot of people want to see the original house used in the opening shot. Well, I have good news. I've seen it and know where it is. I recently searched it out and went with some friends so see it. It is it! If you watch Conan Obrien at all it is the same house he visited. Look closely and you'll see the uncanny similarities. The address is....drumroll please.....1709 Broderick Street. Enjoy!
  • Its right across the street from alamo square park.
  • CORRECTION! Annonymous commentor you are completely right and I apologize profusely. My friend had a visitor in town and wanted to know where the house was. I did a google image search and all that came up were the painted ladies. But the painted ladies only appear in a later version of the intro and are in the background of the closing scene where the family is picnicing. The Tanner house is actually 1709 Broderick! By the way I like the way I was totally called out in the comments as I should have been. I live in San Jose and go to the city nearly every weekend. You really live in that house? If so congratulations cause its a beautiful place. I might knock on your door just to say hi this Sunday if I'm in the area. Original Answer: Are you all serious? You must be kidding because a simple google maps street view will show the answer is 752 Steiner street. Amazing that you could all be peddling such blatantly wrong information.
  • It's at 1709 Broderick Street, I saw it today. If you watch the intro when they zoom out from the house there isn't a park across the street. If you're wondering why the door is different they moved it to 1705 Broderick Street. Check it out for yourself!!! =D
