Try a can of compressed air for the innards. The outer part can be cleaned with a cloth with a little alcohol on it. Only clean your keyboard when it is disconnected.

The "old" keyboards you can actually put in the dishwasher (not joking!), but unless you're sure that you have an old-style keyboard I wouldn't try that! Alternatively, you can hold the thing upside down and give it a few whacks. You'll be surprised what kind of particulate crud comes drifting out of it. I use windex around the keys (spray it on the cloth, not the keyboard), and any crud that's stuck on the sides of the keys and the keys themselves will come off with a Qtip soaked in alcohol.

This works for me: If you have a canister vacuum cleaner, first vacuum the debris. Then, take a cloth rag with a little 409 cleaner on it and wipe the keys. i use a little alcohol afterwards, to kill any bacteria.
