i like mr. jim's and papa john's in my area. my sister works at a mom & pop place called bolli brothers and they have the BEST and most addictive pizza i've ever had. if it wasn't 400 miles from me i'd have it every week!

Obviously none of you have ever had pizza from a real local mom and pop Pizza Joint in NY My fave is Lenny's in Brooklyn. If anyone is old enough to remember or has ever seen Saturday night Fever it is the pizza joint that was featured in the opening scene of the movie. The best in all of Bensonhurst.

Any pizza tastes better. I'm from NYC... and now i live in Florida, so it's hard for me to get "good" pizza of the quality I was raised with... but there's a small franchise called "Westshore Pizza" who claim to be "philly style pizza" that are actually REALLY good. Two slices and a drink for $5 makes it a good place for lunch.

AS far as chain store pizza goes.... you can't do worse than the flavorless toppings, bland plasticky cheese and cardboard crust of Dominoes. Pizza hut is good, of course, chow time is better(except the crust... bleh) but Papa John's rules the chain store circuit... I wish we still had one :( Pizza hut has the best crust.... hands down. Passable sauce and cheese, good toppings, not enough variety of toppings. Chow time has good toppings, a good variety of toppings, okay sauce, good cheese... and horrible crust. Papa John's has the best toppings, sauce and cheese... the crust is passable. They need more topping variety. However, for a chain... they have the best overall.

Real pizza is a lot better than chain store pizza. I love home made pizzas made in the wood fire pizza oven :)

Amongst chain stores, I will have to say Dominos is the best. Amongst local stores, well...when I was in Chicago, I used to regularly go to Palermo's on Devon Avenue. They make the best pizza that I have ever tasted since I came to the US. But you don't want to take a group of people for a party to that place - it is located in a small, dirty & shady area

Our favorite is a mom and pop or actually just a Pop:-) They even make their own sausage that they use on the pizzas. Great crust, great sauce, good quantity of ingredients. No, they don't deliver at all but they don't need to. People call in and pick up or eat there. It's worth it.

pizza hut is like a heart attack waiting to happen...pizza should not be THAT greasy. papa johns makes you feel like you didnt just eat two days worth of calories, which is good. we have a mom n pop place thats about an hours drive from our house, but we make it every once and awile, because it is so worth it! its called leftys pizza and its in amelia. perfect crust, just enough cheese, and delishiously fresh toppings. mmm
