I can do UML (ok not a real "programming language" but it counts!), XML, HTML, FORTRAN, Basic, SQL (only to a basic level) and am currently learning Java. As for the job situation, there are a million and one Java jobs available here (Norway)!

I mainly code in mainframe COBOL, though I've done a little MS Access, some XML and UNIX. Have taken several classes and done a little programming in Java.

Currently, it's been mostly PHP and Javascript, with some Access, C++, and Korn shell scripts. I used to do a lot of COBOL, Assembler, and Fortran stuff. I've probably learned and used a couple dozen languiages total so far. The job situation is good. I'm a civil servant.
