Not anymore but as a teen I had a recurring dream of riding down the hill I lived on on my skateboard. Then every time I'd hit a rock, the board would stop and I'd go flying. Just before I hit the ground face-first I'd wake up, bracing myself for the impact and getting scared...that sucked.

Yes, I'm always halfway across the country, trying to get back to Seattle so I can get to work. Then I find out I have to drive, and have to map out a route to get there quickly. It always sucks.

I always have a dream that Im in the woods with a row of trees to my right, and a steep embankment and stream in from of me. Im crouching down and being quiet. I dont know where I am, but I know that Im hiding from a lot of people who are nearby. I know that there is someone with me, but I dont know who or why. I know that Im doing something important. Its really vague and foggy, and I always get a bad headache after I have the dream. It freaks me out because I know that I should know the place, or feel like I will know the place. Strange.

Lately I've dreamed that we moved into a beautiful new home, but it has a secret back room that is haunted by evilness, with all this old retro furniture in it. The house is beautiful but upon walking into the back, even heading in the direction of the haunted room, both my husband and I become so terrified that it is almost unbearable.

I am standing in a cavernous hallway on the ground level of what appears to be an ancient Roman arena.. the ones like they used to have gladiator fights in. There are a few men who appear to be guards that are looking at me strangely. I have no idea why they look at me this way but it gives me an uneasy feeling. Approxamately 25 yards ahead of me, on the right, there is an opening to the floor of the arena from which sunlight and the murmur of a large crowd pours in. I walk forward toward the opening and turn to see a field of rolling racks, much like hotel luggage carts, with people hanging from them being tortured in various gruesome ways. On one rack two torturers wrapped their victim with a large canvas and twisted each end until they squeezed the blood out of them. Talking and laughing all the while like it was a good days work. The stadium-sized crowd itself was unimpressed with the hundreds of equally horrifying scenes taking place before them, just chatting away, occasionally pausing to watch. But when the gray haired man standing in front of me ordered two men to bring out the last cart the entire stadium hushed in anticipation. They slowly rolled it out onto the arena stopping almost directly in front of me. There was a large piece of heavy cloth covering the victim on this rack and one of the men pulled it away. The entire stadium of people came to their feet screaming and cheering in ecstasy. What was in front of me and for the world to see was a tiny baby hanging from wires. It never goes further I always wake myself up at that point.

I used to when I was about 9 or 10. I would see a small flower, classical music playing, then a giant's foot or something would crush it completely. It sounds stupid, but I woke up crying every time.

Ive been having the recurring theme of houses in my dreams for years. Houses that never end-mostly basements that continue on underground, sometimes just huge dark rooms, like an empty auditorium or a movie theater with long carpeted hallways. I'm usually alone walking through them. Sometimes it's a more normal basement with lots of boxes and things that I had when I was little. When I was young we moved around to a lot of different rental properties. I think I've always had an issue with the idea of "home". Now I just feel like the basement is a metaphor for my entire existence (past, present, future) and where I store my memories. If anyone else dreams about houses often, I suggest reading 'House of Leaves' by Mark Z. Danielewski (the singer Poe's brother). I felt a lot of eerie similarities between my own life and this book. Reading the book is definitely an obstacle course (youll see what I mean if you flip through it) but I've never read anything like it.

I always dream I'm searching through the forest trying to find a house that I know is there, only once I have found it I realize it's in ruins. So of course I go in to explore, which never scares me or anything. I go through different rooms and walk up broken stairs like I know where I'm going. I usually end up falling through or falling off of something though. At that point I find out that there is a whole mess of ruins under the house, all very crudely over grown and earthy. So I find a path that leads out from the underneath and venture off into the forest. I always know exactly were I'm heading in the dream... eventually a Indian looking guy leads me into a cave where something starts chasing us and we end up finding someone down in the cave... ultimately we all swim to safety via lagoon... lol Anyways it looks like some sort of south American jungle, but the house is very Gothic built.... it's weird...

Keep a dream journal beside your bed. When a dream wakes you up write it down. It’s best to start at the point where the dream woke you and work backward, you’ll remember more that way. In the morning read the dream. Ask yourself what do these images mean to me? I personally believe we are the best people to interpret our own dreams. It is after all, your mind communicating with you. A very interesting aside, when you have kept your journal for several weeks you will realize that about 5% of your dreams are prophetic, as in, the things you dreamt will happen the next day or the day after. I don’t understand how the mind does this but it is amazing.
