No the pope is not perfect or sinless. He is the leader of the Catholic church and more than likely a good person. We should treat him with the same respect we treat all human beings.

No. He is riddled with "Adamic sin" just like any other mortal. He is the "visible" leader of the Catholic Church. The "actual" leader has far more power and influence than the Pope.

Why indeed? How about promoting condom use, birth control, stem cell research. I give him as much respect as he deserves - like I would give anyone.

There's a saying that, " If you want to be respected, you have to respect yourself first. " In the case of the Pope, He is a role model of all Catholics and to all Christians. As you know, he don't even have a bank account for himself and all the clothes that he wears are just borrowed.
