  • If your child is well-behaved, follows directions well, and can sit still for periods of time, the best solution seems to be laser. Pulse dye laser therapy is better than it's predecessor of freezing/cutting off the lesions, as it causes no discoloration or scarring, and the lesions are gone in about 2 weeks with just one treatment in about 95% or more of cases. It is, however, expensive, as are most laser treatments. There are many other courses of treatment, including puncturing and draining, as well as freezing and cutting. The age and pain tolerance of your child will obviously affect your decision about any method, though. There is a system of silver-based products on molluscum.com that seem interesting. It is an FDA-approved product. I am not sure about how well it works, however silver is used medically for other reasons (burns and wound treatment, for example), so it's possible it could work. It can't hurt to look the site over, at least, and perhaps do a bit of research on it. Good luck !
  • i have 4 kids with mollscum.when my first kid started to show signs of warts i took him to see his doctor and he said it was mollscum,i started to use silver cure and it worked in 30 days.i got that on line for 50.00.in time i took him to the dermatologist and now i'm not so worried about him.he froze it off.my second kid i could not control it.so he went to.my 3rd and 4th kid got it to and i found something that worked.so by the time i took my 3rd kid went to the same doctor he said what ever you are doing keep doing it.he was saved from the pain of freezing.try believe it or not red cross tooth ache medication kit (eugenol).it is 5.00 at the store.my 3rd and 4th kids got lucky not to suffer the freezing.how to do it.dip cotton ball in bottle and apply to sore over night, keep doing that for a week.if it does not go away then i would go to the dermatologist.i have one atleast it went down but not gone yet.maybe i have not caugt it in time.it has been two days.maybe not enough time.and when you put cotton ball on sore cover with medical tape.
