Ah, well you see unless you live in a third world nation she can get medical attention, either through a free clinic or through a program of sliding pay scale, or through state or county/city medical for indigent adults. She has a peptic ulcer, this is a serious medical problem that will lead to bleeding ulcers. Home remedies do not work - the damage is done - meaning she has ulceration. I do not know what city/town you live in so I can not link you to the public health department for your area - however you can find it through either the yellow pages or a search engine. The search engine should include the phrase "Public health - Your Town" (Your town is of course the name of the city or town you live in. Get a hold of public health department, explain to them the situation - that she has a peptic ulcer and can not afford medical insurance and they will know exactly which programs are available in your area for her situation. If she is in pain or having a flare up she can go to what ever passes for your county hospital. County hospital is Government Hospital and will see her through emergency department and will treat and even prescribe medications. Payment will require her sitting there and answering questions - they will decide for her a scale upon which she will pay (A percentage based on income) and payments. Payments could be as little as $10.00 a month. If she is not employed and not married she may be eligible for various programs which include medical, food stamps and even a check. Being 56 she may be able to make a partial claim against Social Security, or be eligible for partial disability insurance. All of this can be done through what ever passes for county or city Public health Department If you live in a small town then most likely the nearest big city is your county seat or serves your area for public health.

Just take her to the emergency entrance, they have to see and treat her. Most states have some insurance funds for the needy. It's better to try something then not try at all.
