Help answer this question below.
AB. Did you know on Yahoo answers you lose points asking questions.
Answerbag for sure.
I have an account on Yahoo! Answers, but it seems on that website, it's not very social and open there. People actually question me when I ask a question.
Here on Answerbag, it's more fun, with the comments, those thought provoking questions, and much, much more.
Answerbag
Answerbag, of course! I've heard YA doesn't have the community feeling that AB has.
answerbag by leaps and bounds.
Tho Yahells crappy service is why Micro$oft is planning a corperate take over
Of coarse,Answerbag.
If you prefer there, then perhaps you should be there and not ask this question here where you know you won't get support.
ANSWERBAG!!!! It has more personality.
Answerbag to me is more laid back where yahoo answers seems to be a little more serious. AB has alot of funny people and knowledgeable people. Not a day goes by where I dont get a laugh or leave this site a little smarter.
Heck, no.
Here they have actual people doing actual logical customer service, vs. bots that are prone to manipulation by trolls.
Also, the people are much nicer at AB, as the trolls get weeded out more quickly and with less effort.
No. They are facists.
AB rules!
My 2 cents.
I like AB better.
yes.yahoos answer page is more kinda.........um..............not as good as this.lets put it that way.
Never tried Yahoo answers. But I like it here just fine!!
Uh...the green one!
AB...enough said
I don't bother with YA anymore.
AnswerBag by a knockout in the first round.
Started on Yahoo answers, that site is lame, came here and been here ever since!
AB! Yahoo answers sucks ass and so do their trolls.
TOTALLY AB!!! the people here are way funnier and WAY nicer!
Are you trying to bring out the AB police (shifty-eyed look)? they're everywhere ;), i like this site better honestly, but i'd be a liar if i didn't say i dont look up a question on Yahoo! Answers while i look up questions on this site.
I like this site better but I use both.
I don't use Yahoo because I prefer AB
Answer bag.
Yahoo answers is boring.
:)
~+~
no contest!!! AB hands down.....Yahpoo is a dirty word
Yahoo Answers is F***ing retarded.
Why would someone lose points for posting a question and what the F*** is the logic behind having questions expire.
Secondly, why would I automatically be rewarded 2 points just for answering. Answers should be rewarded based upon the value they possess as to how they answer the question.
You cannot even pick an individualized avatar for Yahoo Answers, how lame is that?
There is no free flow of ideas there and everything is so constricted.
On the bag, as long as you post a good and original question, the sky is the limit to how many answers it can get if it is an open ended question.
I love to use Yahoo email because it is simple and easy to use but their answer site is utterly retarded.
I'm still a level one there because I gave up since the whole format seemed utterly gay and I do not mean to offend any gay people when I say this; I mean it in a different sense if you follow me.
G'day Justbuddy67,
Thank you for your question.
Yahoo! Answers has more users than Answerbag because Yahoo! promotes it vigorously.
However, Answerbag has the advantages over Yahoo! Answers in the following areas.
1. Better culture and better users. There are many great users on Yahoo! Answers but the culture can be toxic at times.
2. It is a better run site. The moderators actually look at complaints before they rule on them. At Yahoo! Answers, they used to act on all complaints whether warranted or not.
3. Question database better run. There aren't endless repeats of why is the sky blue.
4. You can earn points for good questions. You have no idea what a difference that makes.
If Answerbag had as much promotion as Yahoo! Answers it would be more popular. I am a level 7 at Yahoo! Answers with 50,000 points and have been a registered user since February 2006. I have been a bagger since January 2007 and have been more active here since then.
Regards
well Yahoo is full of trolls that got my account deleted. i have had no explaination whatsoever and opened up a new account there. i keep getting stalked by a homophobic weirdo who changes there avatar name and keeps talking about bisexuals. everytime i log on (any time day and night) this avatar pops up following around. it's like they are obsessed with me and don't EVER log off and even though my answers and questions were private they still managed to track me down. Yahoo need to sort out there troll and abuse problem.
Answerbag.
I finally left yahoo answers because I picked up a nutjob and yahoo answers would not help me. After this nutjob cloned me 22 times and made 35+ accounts to harass me with yahoo taking up to two days to do anything despite reporting the everloving bejeesus out of him and writing customer care and abuse, I realized that it was a losing battle.
I am enjoying the comparatively troll-free atmosphere here. Yes, there are trolls here but NOTHING like yahoo.
I miss the Gypsy questions but I can live with that. I also enjoy the fact that answerbag has more intelligent questions than yahoo.
I am not getting you? Is there anything called yahoo answers? LOL
Yahoo answers? what is that? LOL
I like ya and answerbag. I have reached my limit 7 on YA so I thought I would come over here. I like that on YA people can give you best answer and you get points for that.. I really don't like the way these categories are set up..
Right now on YA, it's been nothing but kids asking stupid questions like am I pretty, does he like me, do you like my hair color, could I be pregnant? There are 9 and 10 year olds on that site and they are supposed to be 13 which Is still too young. I feel uneasy answering questions on there because I may be saying something that a 10 or 11 old will read and he/she doesn't need to hear from YA (suicide, abortion, etc.).. YA doesn't follow up very well.. Some people will post a ? and in 10 minutes post the same question. That same question can be posted 50 times in an hours time in each category and nobody to enforce it. There are a lot of trolls there. If you give an opinion and someone disagrees with you, they will report you, you will get in trouble and lose your yahoo account.. NObody follows up to see if the report was really a TOS violation or not.. and nobody has ever appealed and won.. they don't even look at the thing..they just take a person's word for it..
YA is quickly losing it's fan base. People are tired of getting to rank 7 (50,000 points) and then their accounts getting deleted for no valid reason..
dont be foolish- AB
Answerbag!
I don't have an account with yahoo answers, but i've been to it several times and i really don't like the layout of it. I like all the features and everything here so far.
I never been to yahoo answers but from what I have heard I will not waste my time checking them out. So here is fine for me.
answerbag of course,it is the best and i have met lots of awesome people here.
1) Many people here would answer Answerbag, I suppose, or they would not stay here.
2) As a comparison, you could ask the same question on Yahoo Answer and get other results.
Well actually the "best answer" given there was: "Try each of them, then decide for yourself."
3) I do not have much experience with Yahoo Answers, I just chance on their questions and answer sometimes on the web as I am looking for information.
I am satisfied with AB, I like being here.
If I would give something else a try, I think I would be more interested to have a look at Wiki Answers, because they work on a similar basis as Wikipedia, and I appreciate it when you do not have this advertisements everywhere.

Answerbag is better. Answers has a huge troll problem, their customer service absolutely sucks, they do not obey their on TOS, you are restricted on the types of questions and answers you can post (no 'chatting', for example), and the questions are only available for answering for a limited time.
That depends on what criteria you compare them on.
In my humble opinion though, the incredible people who populate Answerbag trump anything Yahoo answers could *Possibly* have over AB.
Only good thing about Yahoo Answers is that it's how I learned about Answerbag. That was almost five years ago and I never looked back.
Some other opinions here:

Absolutely not. I left Y!A in disgust and have never regretted it. I got suspended at Y!A for citing http://www.irs.gov/ during tax season as part of an answer to a question. I got a nice form e-mail that stated that I had cited an offensive website. Well, the IRS may very well be offensive, but surely that suspension was ridiculous. That was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. I'm done with the Yahoo and it's automated censorbots that make no sense at all.
Absolutely.
thats like asking an american..
who do you like more, jesus or bin laden?
what are you thinking? LOL
Answerbag.
Yahoo what? ; )
I dont think so
Yahoo answer... because you get 2 points for every answer...

Yeah! Points over there is like money. And you have to earn it by getting your answers rated "best answer".
by Retro_Rebel on March 3rd, 2008
that's stupidity
by FreshApples on April 6th, 2008
AND you can vote for your own answers as "Best Answer"!
It usually takes about 3 to 4 days before a Q is considered "In Voting".

Yes, that is my real last name!
I AM A FORMER Y! A participant.
I WON'T return to Y! A.

Not to mention their ridiculous and unreasonable moderators. I asked a question which, while controversial, violated none of their guidelines. It was simply "Do you believe in hell? And if so, how have you learned to cope with this belief?". That violates NONE of their guidelines. Well, someone on there for whatever reason decided this question was too controversial, so rather than doing the reasonable thing and moving on to another question, they reported me, and YA had my question removed and sent me a violation notice saying it had been removed because it was "not a question or answer". Don't ask me how "Do you believe in hell?" does not qualify as a question. It even has a question mark and everything! Anyway, I will switch to Answer Bag permanently and hope the same sort of fascism does not go on here.

I know!! It's terrible to be reprimanded for being curious!! And plus, it takes forever for someone to answer your questions! With AB, you get answers almost instantly, and i like that. And you don't get points taken away for asking questions. Another bonus is that people aren't plastic, and for the most part are more thourough with ther responses. Great sense of community as well 8o)

I am myself a yahoo answers refugee, it's even in my name. I have to spend more time here to see if it's better or not though. I like the fact that you can comment other answers without getting violated though.
by yahoorefugee on November 29th, 2008
Oh trust us, it's better here, at AB. You can ask freely, and you wont get points deducted.
