I've heard that if you miss a day you can double up the next day to get things back the way they should be but it's not recommended. Don't know the odds sorry!

Its possible, but there are to many factors to figure in to give you a percentage. Variables such as where you are in your cycle (ex. if you are ovulating the odds go up), the type of birth control pills you are on (ex. progestin-only pills are much more time sensitive than combination pills), etc. all effect the odds. Also, FYI its often recommended that you use a backup method of birth control (ex. a condom) for the 7 days following the missed pill since the effectiveness is decreased during that period. If you are truly concerned and the incident occurred less than 5 days ago, you may want to consider taking emergency contraception.
