There is a connexion between smell and taste. When people say that it tastes like poop, they are presuming that because poop smells bad, the taste will be similar, just as bad.

The smell of it is bad enough; people are automatically repelled by it and know that it wouldn't taste good.

I always ask if they've ever really eaten crap or sh*t. How would you be ale to compare the real crap to the food crap?

Because the smell doesn't always match the taste. Kimchi for one thing, Durian fruits for another. Damned if I know.

More often than not people assume what poop will taste like by its tantalizing deliscious wafting scent. so there you go
