No, and I'm not sure I'd want to. Historians tell us that Mohammed (the Prophet) who used to go to a cave to meditate did see one at the age of 40 and the experience frightened him. He ran to his wife, 15 years older than him, and asked her to cover him. She comforted him and assured him he wasn't going mad and that the vision he described must have been an angel. This is understood by Muslims to be Archangel Gabriel. It is on this occasion, we are told, that he received the first few verses of the Holy Qur'an (HQ 96:1-5). The rest were to follow over the ensuing 23 years.

I heard the voice of the Lord Himself. My daughter was diagnosed with a large brain tumour that was close to killing her. I remember praying to God and saying, "Lord, you can't take my daughter" and hearing His voice clearly say to me, firmly but gently, "Yes, I can". It was a hard challenge, but I had to bow my head and say, "Yes, Lord, I know you can, and if you do, it is your right. But I ask you not to." He gave me back my daughter. But I had to put into practice the words I have said so many times, "You are my Lord. Do your will, not mine."
