You're correct: an IP address alone is completely insufficient. To see the content of someone's traffic, you have to have access to some point on the network that traffic passes through (one of the computers on either end of the connection, or a router which passes the actual bytes between the machines). Also, if the traffic is encrypted with SSL as happens on most secure shopping sites, it's nearly impossible.

with your ip, someone could prolly hack your computer and install a keylogger.
