Can someone see what I'm typing over the internet if they ONLY have my IP address?

The answer is no. an IP address is not enough to do much of anything by itself. The only thing i have ever heard of that can record what you type is a key logger program. which has to be downloaded by you or anyone using your computer.

Im no computer genious but I dont think thats possible.
THINK. But me being me, I couldnt give you an absolute defo on that one. I reckon it's highly unlikely.

- You're correct: an IP address alone is completely insufficient. To see the content of someone's traffic, you have to have access to some point on the network that traffic passes through (one of the computers on either end of the connection, or a router which passes the actual bytes between the machines). Also, if the traffic is encrypted with SSL as happens on most secure shopping sites, it's nearly impossible.

Highly unlikely unless they have spyware on your system. But just to be safe, if anyone ever asks for your IP tell them it's 127.0.0.1.

They'd have to pass you some kind of malicious program as well, that would allow them access to your computer and what's on it first. THEN they could definitely see what you're doing.
