It's obvious your set in your ways that you dislike someone for some reason or another. The best thing you can do is explain to your girl friend that you don't feel like being social with this friend due to your personal indifferance. Apologize, but be firm, explain that you can't make someone automatically like someone else, and you should not force things into changing that won't go into changing. Express that it is nothing personal, but you don't like things being forced upon you and that it's difficult for you to accept ultimatums. Perhaps your feel like she's twisting your arm, I am not clear on all the circumstances but you are in your right not to participate at a social event if you don't want to, however, that does not give you the right to stop her from participation on her own. Good luck.

How about HONESTY? Tell her the truth - that you don't like him, being around him, whatever is the truth. But be aware that in a relationship, there is compromise. She might agree to see less of him if you participate nicely in the rare get-togethers.

learn to deal with him its a great learning experience to have to deal with difficult people but tell her you dont like the guy. But if he is her friend you might have to deal because she loves you both.

Just because someone is her friend doesn't automatically mean that you will like them or wish to socialise with them. Explain to her that she can be friends with whoever she likes but that you don't have to like them as well. We are all different and have different tastes.
