Yes. I work in Law Enforcement, and prescription drugs cannot be withheld from an inmate. It is against federal law to withhold medical treatment, it goes against human rights. The inmate may not have unsupervised access to this drug and may have to take it in presence of an officer, and the officer will store the drugs in a secure location. Failure to provide medical treatment is a crime and should be reported to the warden immediatly. If you feel the warden is not helpful, you can contact the Penn. Dept of Law Enforcement or a local attorney immediatly. *This is under the assumption that the inmate has a doctors prescription for said drug.
