  • the starter and /or the solenoid are the first things that come to my mind.try turning your headlights on first before you turn the key to make sure that they dim when you try to start,if the brightness of the headlights stays the same it could mean that the solenoid is defective.another thing that you could try would be to jiggle the shifter to see if the safety switch on the shifter might have a bad contact.
  • check the earth wire to the engine and any wires to the solenoid. does it bump start and then once warmed up does it start ok if so then it could be a faulty battery
