Of course they can accept meals. In most congregation where there are missionaries, they pass around a calendar on which the members can signup to provide a meal for the missionaries. I don't know if this is a Church-wide thing or if this was just something that was a rule in my mission, but we were only allowed to eat at any given member's house once a month. So, there may be a limit as to how often you can do this, but meals with the members are always welcomed by the missionaries. (Well, almost always. There are stories about strange things that some members feed to the missionaries. I have a few myself, but those are the exceptions rather than the rules. ;-) )

I buy missionaries meals a lot. LDS missionaries pay for thier own mission and often are on thier mission (18months - 2 years) with little money. Maybe something to help them financially? If it is not a specific missionary and you'd like to help them alltogether, if you are a member of the church, consider housing missionaries (talk to your bishop as this is sometimes a regional thing)

Small things make a big difference. If you see the missionaries walking on your street, wave them down and offer them a drink or light refreshments (something that won't interfere with their schedule too much). If you see them walking and you're not alone in your car, offer them a lift. Missionaries aren't allowed to ride in cars alone with a member of the opposite sex. Also remember to turn off the car radio ;) Meals are appreciated, but should be scheduled in advance. Missionary meals are often scheduled through the Relief Society.

I guess that's okay to offer them a meal but if they are just about to finish there mission then you could get them a fair-well present or card or ask if you can sign their journal!!

The best gift you could give a Mormon missionary, is the TRUTH and a personal relationship with the Christ of the bible, not the BOM.
