Yeah considering you're not supposed to go more than 35 MPH on them and never more than 10 miles. At least that's what all my spare donut type tires say... I hate seeing people with donuts on their cars, but loud 'boom boom' systems, it's like you couldn't take some of that money and try to save your own life?
-
My first question is why does it matter that they are hispanic? I have seen cars being driven with doughnuts before.. I would be concerned if it was on the freeway, but I doubt the nissan would be able to get to a freeway speed with 4 doughnuts on it... were you mad that the doughnuts were on the car and not in your belly?
-
Yes, because one is bad enough for long distances and high speeds, but 4 is not only a danger to the driver and all his passengers, but for all the other drivers on the streets where he/they were speeding. Being hispanic has nothing to do with it.
-
I also wonder why you pointed out the fact that they were hispanic. I don't think it maters at ALL and wonder why you think it's pertinent. Yes, I would consider the tires a safety issue, but not as big an issue as a police officer who thinks that race seperates us.
-
what are 'doughnuts' im guessing we're not discussing food here
-
I would consider it a safety factor. Do you have safety inspections in your state? I don't mind knowing these were hispanic people. I have been involved with a number of foreign people and the way they drive and the things they do with their cars are unbelieveable and scary.
-
Doughnut tires are a HUGE safety issue. I consider that to be the biggest issue, especially coupled with the speeding. I don't understand why you pointed out that they were hispanic - are they saying that you were profiling them?
-
Absolutely the tires are an issue. Doughnuts are not safe for extended use, and the fact that four were on the car indicates they've been in use for some time. And where did they get four of them anyway? If it were our department, an equipment violation ticket would have been issued. (And I understand why you described the occupants by ethnicity.)
-
Four doughnuts? It is my understanding, that doughnuts are only good for 50 miles and you shouldn't really go over 55 mph. Safety factor?????...I'd say you have a case of idiot-tosis on your hands.
-
Most definately! What if they were travelling along at high speed and because they are so thin, blew out thus causing them to lose control injuring not only themselves but everyone in the vicinity! Is that worth £20 a tire... You did the right thing, life is worth more than tires...
