  • The Bible tells us "all have sinned," so you start out right by admitting the fact. The Bible also tells us "the wages of sin is death," so you do deserve punishment at this point. James 2:10 tells us "For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it," so the historic Christian position is that there are no "minor sins." All sin is offense to God. I believe the essence of sin is ignoring, rejecting or rebelling against God and the specific sins/behaviors are symptoms, not the problem. Paul makes it clear in the New Testament that only the righteousness of Jesus counts for anything. Though he himself was more serious about abiding by God's laws than most Jews and had high standing in the Jewish religion and society, he said in Galatians 6:14 "May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ." And in Phil 3 "that I may gain Christ, and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith." The traditional Christian position is that abiding by rules can't save you. We all make mistakes and intentional errors (Ps 14:3, Rom 3:10). It is only "by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast." (Eph 2)
  • All I can add to Thom64's reply is that I want to make sure we define the word "confession". The only confession that will save you is a repentant confession of your sin (that is, your general sinfullness along with any speific sins which come to mind, knowing that you'll never remember all of them) to God, with faith in His grace through Christ. There are dead rituals that go by the name "confession" which accomplish nothing.
  • Lying is not a minor sin. We are told that liars go to the Lake of Fire! What does "confession" mean? Telling God that you lied at 2pm yesterday about where you were at won't get you forgiveness for it. Forgiveness comes because God became a man and paid the price for your sins on the cross; then you appropriated that cross-work by trusting Christ as Savior. Having done this, all your sins (past, present, and future) are forgiven; you have eternal life. Now if we define "confession" as "agreeing with God" about something, you could say that "confession" saves: that is, you AGREE with God that you have done many evil things and that Christ paid for those sins, and you trust Christ as Savior. (Confess in the Greek literally means, "agree," "say the same").
  • This is no simple Question. As i see it through the eyes of the youth you will not b/c no one can say he has not sinned nor that he is perfect. But confesion is not enough for this there must be some type of need for truth or a spirit willing to learn that follows up
  • It's not confession that saves, but repentance. The life of repentance is nothing but following God on the path leads AWAY from sin. Acknowledging your sin, and asking God's help to rid your life of it, are essential steps in this. It's a life-long process, and the hells, from which the desire to sin comes, desire nothing more than your condemnation and destruction. But the Lord secretly fights on your behalf. And one day that fight will be over, and you will find yourself alone with God. And He will say, "where are your accusers? Has no one condemned you?" and you will say, "no one, Lord," and he will say, "Neither do I condemn you. Go now, and sin no more."
  • if u accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and confess that you are a sinner, confess your sins, repent for them, and ask for forgivness; then u will be forgiven.
  • Don't focus on the hell for the moment, but on heaven. I think you and I would agree that heaven is a perfect place, and that God doesn't let anything imperfect into it. Otherwise it wouldn't be heaven. But what if he let in people who had committed just one sin? Two? Three? How long would it be before heaven is just like earth? So God made the rule: no sinners in heaven. That leaves us with a problem. The Bible says "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23) That means, then, that NO ONE can get into heaven. Which is a tragedy, because God wants us there. So, how to solve this: payment. Imagine you got caught for speeding. You go to court and expect the worst. You are going to get fined...worse still, the fine is beyond anything you can afford to pay...which means you have to go to jail...while you are crying over this, suddenly the judge steps down from the platform, takes off his robe, and says:"I will pay this fine." Now the judge did not commit the crime. He is legally perfect. Yet, he is willing to take your place, even if it means going to prison. And that is what God has done. He has sent His SOn, Jesus, fully man and fully God, to come to earth, to pay for the sin of the world, which the world cannot pay. Because only Jesus has NEVER committed a sin. By dying on the cross Jesus cancelled the debt. Which means, theoretically that all humans can go to heaven. Will they? Let's look at another story: the judge offers to pay your fine, even go to jail for you. Then he goes further. He even puts the money down on the table. At this point you say: No thanks. I think I'd rather keep doing what I've been doing all my life. I don't need your help. Will you go free? No, you won't. Even though the fine has been paid. In order to have freedom, you have to accept what the judge has done for you, embrace it, and then, live in the light of it. You want to run out and tell people what the Judge has done, that you are now free forever, you want to help others start again too. When were you saved? when you received the gift the judge gave you. When you said: I didn't deserve this, but I thank you with my whole life and I promise that I will now live my life as you want me to. That is called repentance: turning around. It is like those big signs on the freeway that say: go back you are going the wrong way...you immediately turn around when you see one. So, turn around. Acknowledge what Jesus has done for you. Say you're sorry to God for your sin, and ask him to help you live a life that is worthy of Him. You know what? You won't have to do it alone: He will send you a personal life trainer called the Holy Spirit, who will teach you, through the Bible and through interacting with other believers, how to be more like Jesus. So, sweetheart, focus on heaven.
  • I believe that it is not just confessing to a sin, anybody can confess, but it is the true and heartfelt desire to not repeat the offence before God and man. Repentence it the key to this. You must repent your sin, sincerely and completely, you must ask forgiveness from God for your sin, and you must desire and work towards not repeating the sin. God will forgive you His mercy is infinite, but you must confess, repent and NOT repeat to stay out of hell!
  • A sin is a sin, doesn't matter what they are, they are equal to one another, and all sins. You need to accept Jesus as your savior, confess your sins, repent of your sins, get Baptized, and go on and try not to sin anymore. Once you accept Jesus as your savior, your old sins are all forgotten, and you will only be judged on the sins you commit after accepting Christ.
  • I don't think that something like Hell even exists. But good and evil exists. It is better for us to do good deeds.
  • Ask God to forgive you.
  • what is going to save you from this is to make a turnaround in your life from these type of actions and to have this conversation with God that you intend to do better with your life and that you are truly sorry for these types of actions, and will refrain from them in the future. We've all done these things, and what matters is that relationship in your heart with God. we polish it and polish it , until we can become one with God.
  • No, you're screwed. Totally going to Hell. See you there!
  • Don't worry about it. You have but one life. There is no heaven or Hell. Be a good person and your legacy will be your reward.
  • Confession to a priest cannot save you; a relationship with Jesus Christ and a repentant heart is what you need. If you love Christ and are committed to Him, you will naturally be repentant of your sins and confess to God directly, assured of pardon by the Blood of Jesus Christ.
