Any LOST watchers? Season is wrapping up and we still don't know about the polar bear - any theories?

Theories? 1) They are Ben's favorite animal. 2) They were island fertility test subjects. 3) The writer's needed an animal that could obtain a "fish biscuit" in fewer trials than Sawyer. 4) Jacob wanted them on the island. 5) Ben wanted something Hurley wouldn't snack on and Jack couldn't fix.

I watch lost. I have no theory 0.0 I mean, how could a polar bear get on an island? Except, remember when Arzt, or whatever his name was, said Antarctica is near? I have no clue how they relate, but this could be something.

the polar bears were test subjects in the Hydra. the cages they were kept in were mentally stimulating or something. i have no idea why the polar bear skeleton was in tunisia though.
