  • Traction control DOES work with front wheel drive. I don't know where you get the idea that it doesn't. Even with only two wheels, TC can vary the power going to either wheel based on the amount of traction each one has. This reduces wheel spin and allows optimum traction in slippery conditions.
  • I am not familiar with Saab's TCS system, but if it is the same one that was used on the old Saturn S-series (another FWD GM product) then it works fairly well but isn't anything to celebrate over as it was a rudimentary system that only controlled the engine and did not actuate the brakes as needed. I found it more helpful than not and it was part of the ABS package. I'll be damned if I'll give up ABS if I have a choice!
  • well ive had a few and i prefer without, makes you drive better in my opinion and the saab has a dreaded and expensive TCS system, as ive found out over the last two years.
  • lots of info about Saab TCS is provided on video here: http://www.saabhistory.com/2007/11/20/saab-traction-control-saab-innovation/ generally - yes - it works for FWD cars by reducing wheel slip but the application is different between automatic & manual transmission
