I'm from England but i find sometimes you have to ask some questions with an American feel otherwise you're not gonna get many answers as they don't know what you're going on about ! Also the greater percentage of members are from there but i know what you mean.

I guess some would say that we are spoiled enough to think the world revolves around us. I think a lot of it comes from the fact that we are such a large country with oceans on two sides. Unlike Europe/UK, most of us here are not used to having different countries so close. It tends to alter your perception of things somewhat. I can understand how frustrating that would be to people from other countries. But I don't think it's done for the reasons you would immediately assume

Who says this is an international site? To my knowledge, Answerbag is based out of the United States and the .com indicates a U.S. site. I love the diverse, international mix of questions and asnwers here, but MOST people, not JUST Americans are essentially egocentric.

Considering that we Americans have a larger population and a higher percentage of 'net-connected people than other countries, it follows that the majority of people on this site are statistically more likely to be American.
