  • No not at all - Though my Children are very important to me
  • If I understand this right, no I don't. There are living things that, while I cannot prove it, I am sure don't have what we would call an identity or personal awareness as hummans do, since they have no brain. I do think it is abit ambiguous in how this is worded, however, so I hope what I said makes sense to you as far as what you were asking.
  • No...I dont think anyone would argue that plants are alive...but I'm nut sure they have those things.
  • I wouldn't negative this question, but I would critique it - your use of "why" implies a positive answer. "Why or why not" would leave it more open. But to answer the Q: No. Plants are not self-aware (at least they'd BETTER NOT start talking to me), but they're certainly alive. Most animals are not self-aware, but the other day I read a really interesting article about some fairly smart animals that exhibited definite self-awareness when they were looking a mirror.
  • ... for SENTIENT life, yes ... for life in general, no. A plant is alive, yet has no personal awareness ... likewise spores & fungi, as well as bacteria & virus single celled organisms. They are all able to grow and multiply.
