I was married to a white, male, trust fund baby who is the same age as Oprah and did nothing of merit with his life. You bet she's a good role model.

Not really... I think that she promotes excess sometimes. For instance, I've heard the girls' school in Africa she built is over-the-top (I haven't been to Africa myself to see it, because I don't have to money to go to Africa, LOL). And her "Princess for a Day" and her magazine's stuff are a bit much for me. I also don't like how she uses her time to promote weird spiritual stuff like "The Secret", because that kind of stuff is often harmful, and because Oprah's rich, she can afford to get into it. It might ruin other people's lives.

She's inspirational, but I wouldn't model my life after hers. She jumps on too many bandwagons before thinking about what they really mean, and all of the world is jumping right with her. With all of her power and money, she still seems to be searching for something to make her content. The diets and the new age religion. I do think we can all learn to give back like she does, though.
