  • It's more that it can keep your desk uncluttered and sometimes working in the IT department I showed people how to work programs and did demonstrations in which I'd be standing 5 feet or more back from the computer. :)
  • Your exactly right!!!!! LOL
  • I think the main purpose is to make money for battery manufacturers.
  • not only is it convenient to move around, it also unclutters your desk are at home or work. its a blessing to be able to get rid of a few wires.
  • I have had great luck with them and I use it 12 hours a day or so. I only change the 2 AA batteries in it maybe once in 4 months - not a big expense at all. I can be 5-10 feet away and it works fine. Mine is a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer (Optical) which in my experience with 2 of these is the best of the models. Some people complain about the battery issue but that has not been my experience in using them for two years now. I can use it on the arm of a chair, my leg, or almost any surface.
  • For me, I can move from the PC desk to the couch and use the large screen tv and NOT have to move the PC. I'm totally wireless when it comes to all my HID's other than the joystick. There are also no wires to get caught, tangle up, sneak under the mouse or keep me from getting into a comfortable position for extended times working with the PC.
  • With a laptop, you avoid the touchpad, which lots of folks prefer.
  • fewer wires and more fun. i wish i had one. =)
  • I sit on a recliner at my desk... Wireless KB on my lap, and mouse on a pad on the arm. My face is about 5-6' from the screen. Thank GAWD I don't have to deal with the wires I used to!
  • Both are perfect for a young kid who uses the PC but does not need to touch anything more than the keyboard and mouse. I also use both and find the lack of wires much better as my desk has enough crap on it as it is - also handy for the laptop.
  • Ever have a cat get under your desk and pull the mouse out of your hands and off of the front of the keyboard tray of your desk?
  • Thats the great thing about it. I can lay on my bed and be working at my computer. I have a Logitech Duo keyboard and mouse(Mx700). So after the 12hrs of sitting at the computer I can lay on my bed for the next 12hrs.
  • I like to be able to lean back in my chair without wires and I also have my PC connected to my TV. I can use it across the living room just fine(about 15').
