People sometimes take advantage of others. They are probably looking at you as a free babysitter while they have some time out. You are caught between wanting to help their son get to know the Lord and not being abused. So you have to take charge. You might begin by politely saying "Oh, by the way, I'll have to bring X straight home after church. I hope that's okay. You know how things are." (You don't have to explain why. Just state your position firmly. Keep your body language business-like too) That way, you still keep taking the boy to church (which is good) but you don't get used. Hope that helps. Blessings

I have 3 children already. I love my friends son very much, but I occassionally need a break. They are very nice people but they never offer to pay me. I never say a word, that's my problem. I always pay them to watch my children, and this is what I just don't understand.

"A couple hours" is kind of open to interpretation. Do you mean two hours, three hours? Why not specify? "Pick him up in 2 hours, please!" You may MEAN two hours, but they think "a couple" is flexible, which it IS! So it really may be your fault for not being specific as to what time you want the kid to go home.
