Not being able to wash your car on the street, being reported to the authorities if you do the washing any time other than your approved time. The fact that the Swiss only need a tiny police force because the Swiss themselves do all the reporting. Making tons of money by never getting involved in foreign affairs. The list goes on and on and ends with Alps, cuckoo clocks and The Sound Of Music - how I hate that film!

The first image that comes to my mind is of a young man dressed in laderhosen, sitting atop a mountain on his day off from is job at the bank, with a nice picnic lunch of chocolate and cheese, grating his cheese with the tiny little cheese grater attachment on his military issue knife. That scene just about sums up Switzerland for me.

I think of this shop where I bought an absolute ton of chocolate, I think of the colourful buildings and the Swiss Alps. I also think of the novelty of landing in Basel airport and being able to walk through any one of three doors; one which leads to Switzerland, one which leads to France and one which leads to Germany.

Swiss banks, money laundering(Marcos,Phillipinian dictator, Ceausescu, Romanian dictator,etc,etc had tons of money in Swiss banks a small country with different languages(German, French,Italian, Rato romanian), many bilingual or trilingual people. a country that has never been occupied by other nation, that has very strong currency(Swiss frank), awesome cuisine(influenced by French and Italian)

small road, secretive banking, rostigraben, punctual train, cleaniness, high school system, gruyere, tete de moine, fondue, men cleaning the streets at 3am, high salaries, proximity, expensive health system, some mountain (small comparing to here), legal age is 16, closeness to other countries, we fucking have to learn 3-4 languages in school on top of the 12 other subjects, there are 2 mentalities, tourists love switzerland but they don't really know what it really is, Migros, Coop, bakeries, fromageries, post office, MAD, Paleo Festival, Jura, Lausanne, a neutral country with all men having been prepared for war (what the fuck? know what it feels like when you're 18 and all your male friends have to go to the army, for months, when it's a neutral country?, Aromat, my family, manual driving, roundabouts all over, bars and cantines, high comfort prisonns... nice landscape & geology & close to free university schooling...

Seelisburg,a small town on the top of a mountain,30 minutes from Luzern ,Switzerland.I lived there for about 1/2 a year.It was like paradise.
