It is possible but a bit rushed. I guess it would depend on what you wantd to do in the cities and how much time did you want to spend at the Grand Canyon. You could easily spend a whole week in either city. You could spend a quick day at the G.C. or several days if you want to walk down to the bottom and see the area very well, like rafting or flying over it.

No, it wouldn't be easy. In my humble opinion, it's possible, but it would be exhausting and you wouldn't get to see any of the three extensively. Part of it depends upon how you plan on getting from place to place, too. LA to San Francisco is a seven hour drive at minimum (depending on what time you hit the Bay Area, too. Drive into San Jose at 5pm on a weekday and you're begging to spend a couple of hours on the freeway.) It also depends upon what you want to see in each place.

It would be a busy week. Driving from LA to SF takes 6 hours...unnless you fly...but just going from place to place is just makes you sluggish.

No, not easy in one week. Give all those destinations at least 4 days apiece. Plus, factor in the travel time between them. It takes approx. 6-8 hrs to drive from the Grand Canyon to LA and another 6 hrs to drive from LA to San Fran. Beware, LA is a HUGE city and you can easily get lost there. Invest in a good map or GPS. Also, have patience with the traffic on the freeways...it's intense. I've lived in LA for 34 years and I still get lost sometimes.
