  • No, you most certainly can't keep a basketball from a game, and that goes for any league. Basketballs are not like baseballs. Also, baseball have ball boys to keep up with the baseballs, and there aren't any ball boys in basketball. Homeruns in baseballs are kind of like mini charity events, as the crowd keeps them for souveniers, but basketball is different. Basketballs cost more than puny baseballs, unless they are special homers or if they are hit by special players.

  • Nope, you can't keep it here. The official explanation is that basketballs are much more costly to produce than baseball. The "unofficial" explanation is that David Stern is a tightwad and a jerk in general.
