Why do people and certain religions add to the bible?

What's the difference? It's all man made folklore anyway. Nobody REALLY knows the truth.

I read Dueteronomy 4:2 and it says "You shall not add to the word which I command you, not take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.

I sincerely hope it is because they are trying to fix it (not that I believe that is possible).

add and take away. 1. they create their own comfort zones 2. like the Jewish high priests for POWER.

Since they belive that their God is not yet dead, His story is not yet over, and so may need to be updated from time to time with any "new" events or insights ... like adding the books of the New Testament to the Old Testament ... or like adding the Books of Mormon ... and so on ...

Because they don't find it sufficient as it is and find that it would be interesting to add some other texts which would add some important information. Some of those who did that were the Christians, who added the "New Testament" to the Jewish Bible. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_Bible
