  • You'll want to wash everything thoroughly in hot, soapy water (bleach whatever you can) including dishes, bedding, etc. Apholstered furniture can be steam cleaned and wrapped in protective plastic covering (take cushions apart and wash seperately). When packing, make sure boxes are sealed with tape along all creases so no buggies can crawl in after the boxes have been filled up. Electronics don't normally harbor pests, as they have too many moving parts and can become hot when turned on. If you have any appliances that you feel may be infested, then it's best to toss them out!
  • 1. Roaches love electronics, especially in the winter, for electronics keep them warm. you should spend a lot of time on the electronics. 2. Do not use cardboard boxes! Use clear plastic bins to move. Roaches love cardboard, and you won't be able to see if there is anything in there. 3. A couple of weeks before your moving day, put all electronics in seperate plastic bags, spray the bag, and keep it well closed. If you see a lot of roaches everywhere, then it would be best to throw away the item, if you don't open it every week, spray some more, keep it shut, and open it just the day you move, and don't leave it in your house. 4. If the item is too big for a plastic bag, either get giant bags, or use a white sheet. 5. It is best to throw away as much stuff as you can especially in the kitchen, like open food, and most kitchen electronics. 6. When packing do not pack in the house, leave the plastic bin in the moving truck, or well outside the building.
