Yes. On-base percentage is calculated as follows: (H + BB + HBP) / (AB + BB + HBP + SF) where H = hits BB = bases on balls HBP = hits by pitch AB = at bats SF = sacrifice flies A hit therefore counts, regardless of what happens after you reach first-base.

Actually the answer is NO, everything else is right. A batter thrown out at 2nd base (or 3rd or Home) on a base hit, doesn't have anything to do with your on-base-percentage. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/On_base_percentage
