  • Washburn is generally considered a "good" guitar. Fret buzz isn't usually caused by the strings, but most generally due to improper string height. I will, however, give my opinion as a luthier concerning strings. I install Elixir strings on every acoustic that comes through my shop. The tone is superior, and the coating makes them a must in a coastal weather zone.
  • Washburn has a great reputation for acoustic guitars. Not as high as Gibson or Martin, but with Fender, Yamaha, and Guild, in my humble opinion. The buzz has to do with the string height over the fretboard, aka "action". This can be changed by changing strings, string tension, or changing string height.
