  • Faith in the promise of forgiveness when asking in earnest.
  • if in their OWN HEART, when they ask forgiveness, they were truly sorry ....and only God knows a man's heart.....
  • By the promise of God's word. If he said it you are forgiven. I think its our own self that feels unforgiven. We are also to forvive ourself.
  • One who is truly forgiven is one who has asked forgiveness and BELIEVES that they are forgiven. To ask, and not believe means that they have not truly accepted forgiveness. For instance...if you ask God to forgive you and accept Jesus in your heart, and then a few days later, you sin, and you ask God to forgive you and think that you should ask Jesus into your heart AGAIN, then you have not truly believed that He came into your heart the first time and forgiven you. You will know you are truly forgiven when you believe what is written in the Bible, which is the Word of God, and not listen to the lies that the enemy tells you when he makes you question your salvation. When you believe that He forgave you the first time you asked Him to, and that your sins are truly forgiven.
