Of course. Is there an 8 year old who hasn't?
-
Yeah beat one easily in a hundred yard dash , he was well licked !!!
-
Try it, It tastes like caviar. :) +4 for your curiosity!
-
Yes. It felt fizzy and kind of good. Didn't everyone lick one when they were little?
-
Yes, I didn't experience any shock. I was disappointed.
-
Of course! It's a childhood rite of passage, isn't it?
-
yes, and i don't think i'll be doing it again anytime soon.
-
I would like it until my toung went numb
-
Sure, do it all the time. That is how I can tell when the 9v bat is about to give out... (Calibrated tung here :-)
-
Licked one, I've been dared to hold it on my tounge for a minute. When I finally could take it off, there were 2 blisters on my tounge. Couldn't taste for a week.
-
You mean placing the tip of your tonque on the terminals. Oh yes. That wasn't enough so I then went probing into the light socket. Taste buds are a little screwed up now.
-
Yes, it tasted like copper and was fizzy. But it hurt.
-
Have you ever licked a nine inch... nail
-
Just licked a nice fresh one a couple of days ago!
-
No. And I never touched my tongue to a frozen ice tray, either. I had seen others do it. I was the youngest of five. I learned by observation.
-
Sadly yeah damn it hurts..
-
Erm yes once when I was young (and stupid) but the new question should be, have you ever licked a 12v car battery? If so you are even more stupid.
-
ummm no never crossed my mind to do something that stupid
-
i have never personally done it but i have got a few stupid others to do it in the past
-
Yes. I was expecting some sort of electric flow or a shock. Nothing happened. I'm going to try different brands.
-
Yes. I've been battery licking in the absence of a digital voltmeter for years and can tell the voltage within 0.5V.
-
Yeah. Those were good times.
-
yeah and its a bit tingley
-
yes, that was...interesting.
-
Does my girlfriend count? She tastes similar...
-
i did....it was somehow cool (as a kid) i do sometimes do it just to refresh the feeling of it.
-
about 100 people a year are killed because the current passes up through the fluids in your head and shorts your brain. Seriously, don't do it.
-
Tastes like electric chicken
-
I couldn't taste it. Something to do with electricity, or whatever...
-
No.
-
Yep. we used to use it as a test for how drunk we were.
-
When i was a kid my brothers and i used to collect frogs and put them all in a bucket. After awhile the frogs started to have sex, but we were dumb and thought they were fighting. We couldn't pull them apart without hurting them, so i got an idea with a 9v. battery. Just put each frog foot on each battery terminal and they instantly separated. After we let them go, a couple days later the pond was full of frog eggs. We finally figured it out.
-
yes when i was a young girl as a grown woman... no
-
Yep... Still do to check if they've still go power. Well... At least I "touch my tongue to the terminals" - I don't "lick" the outside or bottom of the battery! Isn't that "tingly zap" fun? LOL
-
Yes on a dare. I touched an electric on a dare. But I didn't do the dare to pee on the electric fence. Even fools have limits. :)
-
Yeah we used to do that all the time growing up.
-
NO I haven't.
-
No, I ask my kids to do it for me.
-
Yes! That's how I test them. No taste = dead, acidic (like a lemon) = weak, strongly tingly = good. Works great, never hurt.
-
Yep. When I was little, I'd lick anything. Hmmm. That sentence turned out weird...
-
AAAAAWWWW YEEEAAAAAHHH!!!!
-
I have never even heard of this as an 8-year old's curiosity or as a way of testing batteries. I never have tried that. I have certainly learned something, though I still won't be licking batteries anytime soon.
-
Yes, I became supercharged.
-
yeah me and my friend john were bein stupid and he dared me to stick mt tongue to it and all it did was tingle and then it maid a popn sound. didnt really hurt though.
-
yeth i have =D
-
3 people a year die in the UK from this every year, i have done it many times but have yet to die.
-
Yes I have,it's kind of fun.
-
You can tell the state of charge on a 9V battery by touching both poles across your tongue. If it tingles, the battery still has life. If not, throw it away.
-
I have now... Damn curiousity!
-
I have, it startled me! :p
-
Nope ...never licked one :):):) !
-
Yeah, It's like tongue kissing with quen ant. :P
-
So that's what it was that made monkeys hair stand up really...I see
-
i have.... but has anyone else licked a big 6 volt... they've got twice the current.. or better yet a recargeable, cordless, 18 volt drill battery... that made my tounge spasm.. lol
-
umm.. no!
-
I put one on my braces once... that was a bad idea. It felt like someone hit me on the back of the head with a bat. OUCH
-
Licked? I wouldn't say licked. I've touched the two contacts of a 9vbattery with my tongue when I was kid. I did do that. It felt the same as touching the contacts on a swimming pool pump while completely wet. shocking. LOL
-
yes,I do that to test if the battery is still good
-
Heck, I've licked so many batteries in my life I can tell you the voltage.
-
yes, and my hair stuod
-
sorry my hair stood up on the back of my head for a week!
-
I do it all the time to check the charge.
-
I fell for that when I was a kid.
-
Yes i did to see if the battery had any charge in it
-
Yeah..not a pleasant experience..LOL
-
Is there anyone who hasn't?
-
Yes, and now the battery wants to live with me! :(
-
Yeah I have, but have you ever took apart a 9-volt battery? Seriously try it. (It has 4 AAAA batterys in it by the way, totally safe to do)
-
yes it tingles like a joy buzzer. zzzzzaaaaappppp!!!
-
Not since I was a kid. Kinda liked it though.
-
yeah, feels tingly and funny. I feelt that i have uptain super thunder powers
-
yea, it doesnt hurt too much. it just tastes weird. also, girls taste like it
-
I didn't lick it, but I touched the leads to my tongue. If you don't have a volt meter handy, it's a sure way to check for potency.
-
Yeah, it's a great way to test one when you don't have a volt meter handy. A good sting is a good battery, a weak sting is a weak battery. No sting is a DEAD battery.
-
I made out with it.
-
haha!! yeah i have.
-
Every time I see one, love it
-
yes. it was vile
-
OMG no! But I have licked a salt block out in the field after the cows had licked it.
-
I licked one, and buy a new one at Batterylink.us
-
to see if it was still good when i could not find the tester Z.Z
-
lol just yesterday
-
Of course. Best way to tell if it's still good.
-
Yeah. I was curious.
-
Yep! Tasted tangy.
-
Yes i have. It is actually kind of fun because people get freaked out!
-
when i was 6.......i dont think i will do it again
-
I have done that to see if the battery still had juice. It's awful. I don't recommend it.
-
I have licked nine-volt battery, The inside of the freezer, A really sharp knife and a magneto while my friend was spinning it. The last one defiently hurt the most!
-
That is shocking!
-
SURE I DID TOO AND A LOT OF OTHER THINGS THAT WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE LICKED.
-
Oh, yeah, tops MY to-do list...not!
-
yes it was a shocking expereance, it kinnda tasted like lemon
-
are those the little rectangle ones? if so, all the time!
-
connect 4 or 5 in series, then lick the positive and negative rail.. ;) ahhh and I accept no legal or social responsibility for anyone that decides to follow this advice, nor to his family and friends.. :).
-
The little square ones yes - all the time..... easiest way to test them - apparently 3 Australians die per year from doing this! - don't know why, it's just a little zap.... ah well, I do it anyway....
-
This will be the Best Video Game Ever!!!! Check it Out! http://www.residentevil.com/5/kijuju/?fbid=na1rQvktTkC#
