As a demographic we are portrayed as delinquents but rarly given a voice on issues that concern us.

i think that young people are represented quite badley in my local media but that is because the media only makes news from the bad things that happen, when teenagers do good things no one cares but when sumat bad happens its all over the local newspaper, i think that this doesnt help the representation of teenagers atall but makes people think of the bad side in all teenagers even if its not there (if that makes sense)i dont think that the steriotype of teenagers being bad all the time would be there if local newspapers and such dint keep enforcing that steriotype.

Negatively. I live in a city with quite high gun/knife crime rates - which is generally associated with young people. The media makes out like all young people are drunks and/or violant delinquants.
