I have minimum balance amount in my account. the amount is INR 5000.00 only and for one month I will save 10000 in my account and after 10 days I will spend it all to my house expenses

Over a period of 10 years to date my experience is that bank accounts have yielded better returns than other forms of investment with the possible exception of corporate bonds. But never place your loyalty with a particular bank, contrary to what they would have you believe they are not philanthropic organizations. Saving is a difficult and time consuming business with no sudden rushes of adrenaline, remember its a slow and tedious process. Shake your money up too much, you will lose it, just as easily it will get mislaid if you leave it with a particular organization for too long.

I have more in my checking account than my savings. I guess I should transfer some over, but the difference in interest is so pitiful that it hardly seems worth the bother.
