• Where is he now? What you call GOD I call NATURE. The burden of proof is on you. If I told you "there is no Sun" you could prove me wrong pretty easily. If I told you, there is no God, what proof do you have other than "faith" which is actually "the belief in something that has NO proof"...
• Because people fear what they do not understand
• why? because some people fear what is stronger than they are. that there is nothing for them to do to get higher then him. he is allmight!!!!!
• Gospel Girl --- How do you *know* He (She/it/whatever) is all around? What tangible evidence can you offer to establish the presence of the Divine? Just wondering....
• If I told you there was a million dollars in a suitcase under your bed, would you take my word for it or would you want to se it? Answer that and you in turn will have your answer
• All I have to say is God is Awesome. His works we cannot fathom. He is real. He has given us life. He has given us the air we breath. I believe in Him fully. He is Spirit and Truth. No one can ever convince me that He does not exist, because He is with me every day. He watches over me and loves me with open arms.
• I will try to answer from a Christian perspective. You are blessed with faith - so you cannot doubt the existence of God. Not all people have that gift and are incapable of such blind belief. This is not uncommon, and in the Acts, Jesus even acknowledges this to be common in the story of Thomas's inability to believe. The big problem with matters of faith - to those who believe, it is unthinkable that someone is not able to see what is obvious to that believer. People with strong faith routinely confuse matters of faith with matters of proof. Faith does not require proof. - in fact it is the opposite. It is not practical to try to argue proof from a position of faith. This problem is most often seen when people of strong faith attempt to argue proof based on the Bible. The Bible is a text of work meant to support a system of faith - not a system of science. The Bible is full of contradictions from the very first pages - where one finds two conflicting creation stories. Yet, these contradictions are routinely ignored by these people of deep, literal faith. Many things can be proven that challenge faith, but the beauty of faith is that is flexible in nature and can flex and adjust to allow for new proofs to coexist... as long as the believer is able to keep perspective on the difference between faith and proof. Often, believers are encouraged by their leaders to disregard things proven scientifically - There is no need to take this attitude - there is certainly no words from The Christ instructing us to refuse science. In spite of what these leaders preach, there is nothing about scientific research that refutes faith or is godless in nature. In fact many seekers of science in the US are people of deep faith.
• In an attempt to bridge the gap between Believers and Non-Believers, I note recent research that indicates particular parts of the human brain seem to be associated with mystical/spiritual/religious experiences. http://cas.bellarmine.edu/tietjen/images/new_page_2.htm Given the substantial variation in human anatomy, it is not unreasonable to believe that some people may have brains where the "God Module" is more active than in other people. This may account for much of the difference in people's perceptions of God (or the lack thereof).
• They don't know Him, some don't want to, some refuse to. In His service, <:))))<><
• It's just as easy as not believing in the Boogeyman, or Santa Clause. People believe what they want. It's the beauty of our country. Some believe in God and some don't. I personally don't, but I hold nothing against Christians or Muslims or anyone else's religion. I respect those Christians and Muslims who fight for their religion. Fighting for what you believe in is a far more superior reason to fight than for reasons some man has forced on you. I do disagree with those Christians and other religions who try and cram thier religion down my throat. It only makes me reject even more. I do know that there are some athiests who try and convince people of religions out of them, I've seen it and didn't do anything to stop it, so I might as well have been there doin it too. Let people believe what they want to believe. I believe that there is no heaven or hell. I believe in right and wrong. And my interpretation of reight and wrong will contradict with others'. I know that but I accept it, and I try and respect others religions although sometimes I'll unintenionally do something to offend someone and I end up looking like an ass or an idiot. It's wierd cause i don't believe in heaven or hell, christians do and all these religions have their own beliefs on the after life. the thing I find f****ed up is that somebody's wrong. haha... just kidding everyone bad joke. I just think people should be left alone to belive what they want. Be supportive of one another and (almost) everyone will be happy.
• First, the wording of this question speaks volumes about the popular conception of the divine. What is "all around" has been corrupted through generations of politics and persecution so that it has been left with only one face. Whether you are defining "what is all around" as by the natural world, by human creation and human deed, or by something else entirely, the driving force behind those phenomena is a matter of individual perception. Ages before the advent of Christianity, Islam, or any monotheistic religion, the divine carried many faces. Because the concept of the divine has morphed into something much more restrictive and because people have forgotten their historical religions, many have a hard time believing in anything at all.
• "How can theists believe in God when there is no proof?" See? I fixed it for you.
• I don't think questions like this are helpful, because they lend themselves to immediate comebacks such as "How can theists believe in God when there is no proof?" All you are going to do is get atheistic backs up.
• what proof?
• You just opened a can of worms. lol My 2 cents.
• What proof? You keep saying there's proof! Where?! It drives me bananas! I just get vague answers like "All around you," "the beauty of life," "the Bible, a religious work that is full of contradictions and is no different from any other religious work, but it's true because it's MY Bible." Give me something to research. Give me something to touch. Give me something to look at. Just quit giving me bull!
• Think of it this way, when you accept Christianity you know more about what god has done, and the proof just seems to flow. When you are an atheist, you would likely know less about what god has done, therefore, any proof just would not make sense to them.
• They think the world and life and trees and the ocean are all an accident.
• Their is no solid proof. If their is I've yet to see it.If anything, no matter how complex, can happen naturally on its own without intervention, then it is not proof of some invisible man in the sky.
• Where is said proof. Please show me.
• There is no proof. Absolutely no proof. Are you a christian? Because I know for a fact that the christian God is a murderer, a hypocrite, a murderer of children, He encouraged kidnapping of virgin women who's families were slaughtered by His own people. He caused the death of everyone on the planet by a flood, including innocent children. He demanded the burning of healthy innocent animals to satisfy his anger towards his own people. He is a beast. These are things that I have read in the holy bible. I do not believe in God. Where is your proof???
• http://www.positiveatheism.org/writ/dawkins3.htm If you want more, there is plenty more where that came from...
• Where's the proof? I looked everywhere, under my bed, behind the refrigerator, under the couch, in psychic wards, cancer wings, HIV clinics, homeless shelters, orphanages, women's shelters, at the welfare office, in Africa, South America, India, the Bronx, New Orleans...and nottin' - couldn't find the proof anywhere!
• Proof? If there were proof I wouldn't be an atheist. Believers have an observation and leap to a conclusion and that isn't proof.
• Okay lets look at this scientificly shall we. There can be debatable proof on either side, yet some religious fanatics can completely ignore one side. While another person can ignore the creation side. There are organisms that are far to complex and we dont fully understand how they were made, while others show clear signs of evolution.
• I see no proof. What I see are trees, grass, eagles, buffalo, wolves, whales - *Nature* - Thus, I am Pagan, but also an athiest. I don't believe in God. I believe in the power, spirit, and influence of living creatures, not in a super-being that has no claim over this Earth. We are linked spiritually to all living things on the Earth. Nature is the creation of Mother Earth. (Not going to respond to pushy and most likely close-minded Christian/Catholic comments. Sorry. I've had enough of that in my lifetime.)
• Show me the proof and I will believe. As of this moment I have seen none. As for the link in another answer I could tackle each point in turn but the thrust of the argument is the teleological argument which has been done to death on this site and does not require recapitulation yet again.
• Its very easy really you just use reason and logic
