What is the difference between hair gel and mousse?

  • Hair gel is a thick, clear preparation for styling hair. Typically used to achieve the "wet look" or create/maintain a style that needs extra holding power. Gel also tends to weigh hair down.

    Mousse is light and foamy and is used to style hair and give it a less "done" look than gel or spray. It is also ideal for creating volume. It's light texture does not weigh hair down as much as gel.
