  • Probably. In Hawaii, you'll be much closer to the sun. However, whether you tan or not no matter where you are, use sun protection when you go out in the sun because it does damage to your skin that you can't see, even if you aren't tanning.
  • The reflection of the water or sand intensifies the rays of the sun.Also the amount of smog or pollution affects the sun rays.I did burn in Hawaii by not paying enough attention to the length of time I spend in the sun.
