You could check with local nursing homes - it would make a good activity with spring just arriving. Or maybe a school.

You can "distress" them. I did this with a few of my old plant pots. Get some iron paint from a specialty home decor shop (ie: Seabrooks). Of course you have to prime them and then use an activator after the iron paint is applied, but almost immediately they look like old, rusted containers. Several coats of flat clear acrylic will keep them from chipping. you might be surprised at how good they actually look.

Check with your local nurseries. Many of them will reuse old plastic pots if you donate them to the nursery. Good luck
