The Living End is more punk, but they are kinda popy too. I really like them.

I know some old school Aussie bands like Mental As Anything, Split Enz, Icehouse. The only current bands I know are Wolfmother and Silverchair.

Wolfmother are really hot at the moment, even being recognised by the US Grammys. Powderfinger, Living End and Silverchair have all been around for a long time, but are still great. Eskimo Joe. John Butler Trio (quirky but great in concert. I went to the Max sessions). Some people like Dallas Crane. I am hoping that a little band who supported Dallas Crane make it in the near future. They are called Super Florence Jam and used to practice in the Pitt St Plaza in Sydney as buskers. They have their first CD EP out, but the recording lets them down, I think. Live they are great.
