  • Yes...started when I was a kid as a volunteer at a local children's hospital. Throughout my adult life I have been on a variety of Boards and Committees for non-profit organizations..as well as direct service. Currently, I am an active member of the Lions Club..an International service club which raises funds for eye-clinics in 3rd world countries to prevent eye disease leading to preventable blindness...collects from our communities used eye-glasses to distribute to those who cannot afford them in those countries....funds Centres which purchase and train guide dogs (Lions Foundation)..and many other international and local projects. www.lionsclubs.org Locally, we raise funds to provide assistance to individuals in need...and we provide scholarships and bursaries to deserving young people. Personally, I am involved in several of these projects, including my favourite which is a pet cemetery. For a fee, individuals can buy a burial plot, with granite marker, in a lovely park-like setting in the country. They can visit whenever they want..and sit quietly. Funds raised go to Lions Foundation to purchase guide dogs. Lions motto is WE SERVE. "It is when you give of yourself that you truly give" Kahlil Gibran
