1) The milder the depression, the easyer the treatment... 2) Bananas are one of the things you can eat more as a self-care for mild depression: For instance: Eat more lean meat, turkey, cold water oily fish such as salmon, sardines, mackerel and river trout, fresh fruit, bananas and vegetables, nuts. 3) Bananas are one of the things you should avoid if you are already taking depression medication: Caution: If you are taking depression medications, avoid foods rich in tyramine such as almonds, avocadoes, bananas, beef or chicken liver, beer, cheese, chocolate, coffee, fava beans, pineapple, peanuts, pickles, sausage, yeast extracts as well as any high protein food that has undergone ageing, pickling, fermentation or similar processes. 4) This is not a medical advice. If you want a medical advice, consult a doctor. Source: http://www.health24.com/natural/Natural_approach/17-663,23638.asp Paragraph Self-care for mild depression, Point A. (Healthy Nutrition)

Maybe that explains why im so happy and blissful having ate a minimum of 6 a day sometimes up to 10 for the last year or so !!
-
thanks - can't stay and chat - gotta find 2 bananas real fast.
-
Can I have them in a Banana Split?
-
That sucks, because I don't have any. :(
-
Yes. That's why I eat about 3 or 4 a day! And it really does help!
-
I don't think so. I tried eating lots of bananas and it hasn't helped me at all. I also take supplements, tons of vitamin D and other nutrients so I don't become malnourished again and it doesn't help. Then I tried treating depression with fish oil. Let me tell you, all propaganda people.

Either that's a myth, or you'd have to have extremely mild depression for it to work. I eat 2-3 a day and I still have dysthemia. Then again, my mild depression comes as a result of my life and not my hormones.
