  • You might consider yoga. There are many poses that work the thighs. You can find a lot of information on yoga and specifically poses on sites like http://www.yogajournal.com. In particular, you should look for poses that incorporate some sort of bent leg standing position such as the Eagle Pose, Chair Pose, and Warrior Pose II. These poses, when held for some time and then alternated, will definitely work the muscles in your legs. While yoga is not as easy as it looks, it is possible for beginners to adapt excercises to their needs by not holding poses for as long and not bending quite as far at first. One of the other great things about yoga is that you don't need any special equipment - despite the vast amount of stuff out there to buy. However, if there's a chance of you slipping on your exercise surface, dp consider buying a yoga mat. They are really cheap. Yoga blocks and bands are also useful (especially to beginners) and cheap, though not a necessity. And if you hate searching for poses online, it's easy to find cheap yoga books in the bargain sections of book stores like Borders and Barnes & Noble. Also, you might want to look into pilates either instead of or in addition to Yoga.
