  • In my opinion, yes. This was a student exterminating fellow students and teachers on his own campus. Suicide bombers do not go after their own.
  • Don't see the difference. All murderers are a bit crazy, and have no regard for human life, and blame others for their own unhappiness and think the only solution is to eliminate them. Whether it is for religious, political or social reasons, murder is murder and never justified except in self-defense or protecting someone else.
  • You can't measure evil, you can only measure the effect it has on others. Personally I think this question is counter productive.
  • no 911 was mega death compared to this
  • I find it very hard, if not impossible to compare these evils. All violence that take away life is terrible and shocking. If I said, for example, that the Bali bombing was not as bad or worse as this Virginia massacre, I'd feel that I can't say that because their lives had just as much value as the other lives. Do you see what I mean? All of their families suffer greatly, I feel for them equally sad.
  • No more nor less.. Killing is killing is killing. If we all paid as much attention and invested emotionally as much into Iraq, Afghanistan, Nigeria, DR Congo, we would be unable to live a 'happy' life any more. We like to live in a little sphere of self-generated immunity, perhaps the only way to remain sane in this world, but this world isn't sane and that sphere won't last forever.
