If you live near farm land ask a rancher if you can fish in his stock ponds.My grandfather taught me this trick.He said cows dont eat fish.The first time I tried it I caught a 7 pound large mouth bass.These ponds are not fished often.

Leech, Cass, Vermillion, and Mille Lacs all offer great walleye and muskie fishing, while metro lakes such as Calhoun, Minnetonka, and Independence can offer excellent bass fishing. For trout and salmon one would head north, to the big lake, Superior, and to Lake of the Woods for sturgeon.

The best place to go fresh water fishing is where the bass are the size of groupers.
