  • Yes. Your belt should be the same colour of your shoes. If your watch has a leather wristband, that should also match the colour of your shoes.
  • Do not wear brown shoes with black pants or vice versa. Articles of clothing can often be divided into the "goes with black" group and the "goes with brown" group. Then you have a pair of black shoes for one group and a pair of brown shoes for the other group. Of course, giving this advice is probably a waste of time, since the gentleman I have in mind is not an Answerbag user... But I thought I'd try to help just in case somebody else's significant other has problems with color coordination!
  • If you're wearing trousers and your socks are visible, then your shoes should match the colour of your socks. If you're a guy, they should also match, or be fairly close in colour to, your trousers (black shoes are ok with blue or brown pants, blue or brown shoes not really OK with black pants though) and if you're wearing a leather belt the colour should be fairly close too. If you're a girl as long as the colour of your shoes blends with the rest of your outfit, it's not that important- e.g. whilst black shoes with an all white outfit is a bit of a no-no, pale blue would be OK. If you want to tie the outfit together, try wearing an accesory further up, such as a scarf, bag, or even hat, in the same colour as your shoes, though its not always necessary- an all black outfit with bright green or pink shoes can look sensational.
