  • Yes. And no, I did not report it.
  • I was verbally and emotionally abused but, not physically abused. It was reported to the authorities when there was a call because he threatened to be physically abusive to me and my offspring. The police didn't do much - they just talked to us seperately and blamed his "violent streak" coming from all the overtime he was putting in at work. It was recommended for me to "stay away" from him and not "talk" to him when he was "tired" like that. Oh, and I should "handle all the dicipline" until he got back to working "regular hours". They were "awesome" help!
  • A guy headbutted me on the dance floor at one time when i was at University. It broke my nose but since I did not know who he was and had no idea if it was a deliberate act I did not report it. The way a lot of men dance it COULD have been an accident, since it was ,to my knowledge a stranger I imagine that it was accidental, Or maybe he just did not like my dancing.
  • My husband grew up in a household where he witnessed domestic violence against his mother on a regular basis. I can thankfully say that he has never hit, slapped or punched me in the 23 years that we have been together. Sure when he was angry he threw things, turned things over, slammed doors, took off and even grabbed me by the arms once.. but never anything like he saw done to his mother.
  • Yes, on several occasions. I have reported it a couple of times.
  • Yes, I was punched in the leg, had a chair thrown at me, was bit twice, slapped in the arms, had my hair pulled, he gave me an Indian Burn, kicked a chair at my head, shoved me into walls/onto beds. Threatened to kill me...shoot me...break my jaw. No, I didn't report any of this.
  • Multiple times. Extremely hot and cold beverages thrown on me while I was sleeping. Drug across the floor by my hair. Slapped, punched, kicked, choked. Spit on. Locked out of the house in my pajamas with the baby inside. Car window broken in front of my face. Threatened with a knife, gun, machette. I called the cops once, they didn't do anything. I got restraining orders against him, (dropped one because he was gonna "get help") then I got a divorce.
  • yeah i have been slapped and i didnt report him to the police but i slapped him right back.
  • yes, he even jumped on top of my car because i locked him out and i drove him straight to the police station that way. needless to say he never bothered me again.
  • Tried to throttle me. By the time he let go, I was so annoyed that I hurled a carving knife at him which ended up stuck in the door frame. Got the bastard with a can of Felix catfood though (close range, didn't want to miss again). Afterwards, took his keys off him (he was flapping so he failed to notice) - kept on and on having a go until he decided I was neurotic and then off he went sulking. Went out clubbing with my mate and phoned afterwards with the day/date he could collect any stuff he had at mine. Put the stuff out in the front garden that morning and went out. Came back later and ta-da - relationship termination complete. It has to be said, all of that took a huge amount of engergy.
  • Yes I've been through that and I moved out - I didn't report it because it was mostly mental abuse
  • My first husband slapped me across the face really hard it knocked me onto the floor,i jumped up and kicked him so hard in his bollock that he in turn dropped to the floor,i paniced and ran out the front door to my mums i never reported it as having 4 stapping brothers helped alot lol.
